Fire Damages Ventura Boulevard Strip Mall

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A Sherman Oaks strip mall was damaged in a fire early Monday morning.

Firefighters were called to the 15000 block of West Ventura Blvd. at 2:54 a.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange. They arrived to find one unit engulfed in flames.

"Firefighters found a one-story strip mall with fire showing from one unit," Prange said.

It took 31 firefighters 21 minutes to put out the flames, he said. No injuries were reported.

"The cause of the fire is under active investigation," Prange said.
