Firefighters Knock Down Duplex Fire In Van Nuys

Fire crews had the fire in the two-story duplex out in 11 minutes.

VAN NUYS, CA — Firefighters extinguished a fire Sunday inside one unit on the first floor of a two-story duplex in Van Nuys. The Los Angeles Fire Department dispatched 26 firefighters to knock down the blaze.

Fire crews, dispatched at 10:23 a.m. to 14611 W. Delano St., had the fire out within 11 minutes, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

"Firefighters encountered excessive storage conditions in the unit, but the primary and secondary searches did not locate any occupants," Stewart said.

No injuries were reported and a cause of the fire was under investigation.
