Gas Leak Prompts Sherman Oaks School Closure
Millikan Middle School and its magnets were forced to close Thursday, and it remains uncertain when they will reopen.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A gas leak prompted the closure of Robert A. Millikan Middle School and its magnets Thursday, but the campuses will reopen Friday.
The leak was detected Wednesday night near the front of the Sherman Oaks-based school complex, and gas service was shut off to accommodate repairs, according to the Los Angeles Unified School District.
The schools at the site in the 5000 block of Sunnyslope Avenue were closed Thursday out of an abundance of caution, district officials said.
