Sherman Oaks local business, Arthur Murray Dance Studio, had a first annual Adopt a Soldier campaign for the holidays and had such joyous results. For a few years now they always donate to Toys 4 Tots but wanted to do something greater. They decided to send care packages to soldiers in the middle east that don't get the choice of coming home for the holidays. Receiving help from students and teachers the care packages contained snacks, goodies, cards, and dance classes recorded on a USB drive.
"The United States Armed Forces protect our freedom, give us so much, we wish we could do more but we did what we could. We hope we can provide them with at least a little fun and snacks to enjoy on their down time. We didn't expect a response but received these pictures that almost brought us to tears. " said by studio owner, Martin Barthold.
As we can see in the pictures their smiles speak a million words. The dance studio says this will become a yearly tradition and will ask for Sherman Oaks locals to participate so they can give at least 1 care package to as many soldiers in the middle east as possible.
