Jumper Forces Sepulveda/Ventura Boulevard Closure

Police talked down a jumper from the 18th story of a building towering above Sepulveda Boulevard Thursday: BREAKING.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA —A woman who dangled her legs Thursday from the roof of an 18-story building in Sherman Oaks was safely taken in custody. Police and firefighters responded about 3 p.m. to the building in the 4600 block of Sepulveda Boulevard near Ventura Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A crisis negotiator was summoned and the woman was taken into custody about 3:45 p.m., authorities said.

The emergency prompted the closure of Sepulveda Boulevard between Ventura Boulevard and Dickens Street and at least one lane of Ventura Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
