'Karate Kid' Apartment Damaged In Fire; 2 Hospitalized
Two people were rescued and hospitalized after the Los Angeles area apartment building made famous in the "Karate Kid" movie caught fire.

RESEDA, CA —A Reseda apartment complex made famous in the original "Karate Kid" movie and subsequent streaming series “Cobra Kai” was damaged in a fire Monday night, and two residents were rescued from the fire and hospitalized in unknown condition.
The fire was reported shortly after 11 p.m. Monday in the South Seas apartment complex in the 19200 block of Saticoy Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to a single-two-story unit, but smoke damaged other apartment units, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
Paramedics treated four people at the scene and two were taken to a hospital in unknown conditions, according to Prange

It took 26 firefighters 13 minutes to extinguish the flames, Prange added.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.

The apartment is well-known in the community for being featured in the original "Karate Kid" film as the place where a young Daniel Larusso lived and met his karate mentor Mr. Miyagi. More recently, the apartment was featured in the streaming reprisal of the franchise, the "Cobra Kai" series.
