Man Taken Into Custody After Pursuit Ends in Collision

A police pursuit that began in Sherman Oaks ended shortly after 10 p.m. in Van Nuys.

A man in his early 20s was in custody early today after a police pursuit that ended in a multi-vehicle collision in Van Nuys.

The high-speed pursuit of the suspected stolen vehicle ended at 10:08 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Sepulveda and Magnolia boulevards, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Matthew Ludwig said.

Broadcast footage showed the suspect vehicle glancing off one vehicle then colliding with others as it sped through the intersection.

At least three people were treated at the scene for minor injuries, LAPD Sgt. Cameron Dunnet said. A 2-year-old child in the suspect’s vehicle was not injured, Dunnet said.

The suspect had outstanding felony warrants, and would also be booked for DUI, the sergeant said.
