Notre Dame High Teacher Arrested On Suspicion Of Molestation

Detectives suspect longtime Notre Dame High School teacher Jason Scott Bissell​ of child molestation and are seeking additional victims.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A Sherman Oaks high school teacher has been arrested on suspicion of child molestation, and investigators on Tuesday called for additional victims to come forward.

Los Angeles Police Department detectives arrested Jason Scott Bissell, 52, Thursday after receiving a report of "alleged ongoing inappropriate sexual conduct."

Up until his arrest, Bissell was a teacher at Notre Dame High School a private school in Sherman Oaks. He's been teaching at the school since 2006. Authorities did not release details about the allegations against Bissell, who remains in custody.

School officials have declined to comment publicly on the case.

"The investigation was presented to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office," according to a statement issued by the LAPD. "Upon reviewing the case the District Attorney's Office filed multiple felony charges against Mr. Bissell."

Bissell was booked at the Van Nuys Community Police Station jail, then assigned permanently to the Twin Towers Correctional Facility. His bail was set at $710,000, and he is set to appear in court on Oct. 12.
