PHOTOS: Sherman Oaks Remembers 9/11

A gathering of local firefighters, community members and even a retired firefighter from New York gathered together today.

Firefighters and community members came together at Fire Station 88 to remember those lost on Sept. 11, 2001.

Among the speakers were retired FDNY Lt. Paul Geidel, who lost a firefighting son in the World Trade Center; Los Angeles Fire Department Deputy Chief Joe Castro, telling the story of WTC hero Rick Rescola, who is credited with saving 2,700 lives before perishing himself, and, lastly a young boy and his mom, transfixed by the stories being told.
