Robbers Chase And Shoot At Actor Terrence Jenkins In Sherman Oaks

Four men attempted to force the former BET host from his car and chased and shot at him when he made his escape.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA — Actor Terrence Jenkins narrowly escaped a violent robbery attempt at his home in Sherman Oaks Wednesday morning, and now police are searching for his attackers.

TMZ identified the former BET host as the victim of an attempted robbery and early morning chase involving gunfire.

Los Angeles police were called to a home near Valley Vista and Kester Avenue just after 3 a.m. Wednesday, according to Los Angeles Police Departmetn Officer Lizeth Lomeli, who declined to identify Jenkins' as the victim.

"The victim pulled into his residence, and a vehicle pulled up behind him," said Lomeli.

Four men in the second vehicle demanded that the victim get out of his car, but he instead drove away, according to Lomeli. The would-be robbers gave chase and shot at the victim at Sepulveda Boulevard and Moorpark Street, a major thoroughfare in Sherman Oaks.

No injuries were reported, and the attackers fled the scene in a Silver Jeep Cherokee. Investigators are canvassing the area for surveillance video that may have captured the incident, Lomeli said.

The violent incident is the most high-profile in a string of brazen robberies across the city recently. This weekend, the LAPD issued a blanket warning about the spike in violent robberies, urging residents to be vigilant about their surroundings.
