See Smoke? Grass Fire Scorches 3-Acres in Sepulveda Basin

BREAKING: Firefighters battled a small grass fire near the Balboa Golf Course Friday afternoon.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- Los Angeles firefighters made quick work Friday afternoon of a grass fire in the Sepulveda flood basin.

The blaze, which broke out at 4:25 p.m. near 5600 Woodley Avenue, was contained to 3.2 acres, according to Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

About 52 firefighters were able to contain the grassfire in just under a half hour, according to Scott. There were no injuries or structures threatened by the fire. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
