Sherman Oaks Woman Escaped Home invasion Robbers

Armed robbers forced a woman into her house and tied her up as they ransacked the Sherman Oaks home.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA -- Home invasion robbers struck in Sherman Oaks, tying up a woman who freed herself and escaped, police said today.

The robbery was reported at about 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 3900 block of Ventura Canyon Avenue, said Sgt. S. Gottschalk of the Los Angeles Police Department's Van Nuys Station.

The woman walked out her front door where she was confronted by three armed suspects, Gottschalk said. The suspects forced her back into her residence where she was tied up while they robbed her, he said.

The woman managed to free herself and escape to a neighbor's house where she called police, Gottschalk said.

Police searched the area but the suspects were gone, he said.
