SWAT Team Surrounds Fugitive In Valley Village Standoff
A wanted man was holed up in a building in Valley Village. The standoff triggered a SigAlert for the Hollywood (170).
LOS ANGELES, CA — A wanted fugitive holed up in Valley Village surrounded by an LAPD SWAT Team Tuesday afternoon before being taken into custody.
A SWAT team was called just before 11 a.m. to the 5500 block of Carpenter Avenue, near Burbank Boulevard, to try to get the suspect into custody, according to Officer Tony Im of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.
No description of the suspect was immediately available and it was unclear why the person was wanted.

Police later reported the suspect was in custody, but it was unclear when that occurred. The standoff forced the closure of the off-ramp from the Hollywood (170) Freeway to Burbank Boulevard. A SigAlert was issued, the California Highway Patrol reports.
