Watch: YouTubers Drive Go-Kart Along 101 At 2 AM
"SMH," CHP West Valley wrote regarding three YouTubers who admitted to driving a go-kart along the 101 for a YouTube stunt.
SHERMAN OAKS, CA — Driving a go-kart on a freeway in the middle of the night: what could possibly go wrong?
Two YouTubers were cited early Thursday morning for driving a go-kart down the 101 in Sherman Oaks, California Highway Patrol West Valley reports.
An on-duty CHP officer noticed traffic slow down noticeably at around 2 a.m. near the Woodman Avenue exit, the agency said in a Facebook post. The officer then saw that a go-kart was driving in the slow lane of the freeway, surrounded in the front and back by two cars that were “clearly escorting the kart.”

The officer pulled all three vehicles over by Woodman Avenue. The drivers, one of whom CHP said was a minor, admitted to doing the video for a YouTube stunt. One driver was cited for being a minor and driving outside his license provisions, while the kart racer was cited for unlawful operation and impeding traffic, CHP said.
“Where do we begin with how incredibly dangerous, stupid and illegal this was… by a group of young self-described “YouTubers” looking for fresh content,” CHP wrote. “Absolutely zero social media content is worth putting your life or others in danger.”
