Woman Injured in 101 Freeway Road Rage Crash
A woman was hospitalized when a driver she had exchanged words with crashed into her vehicle.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA - A possible road rage incident this morning involving a vehicle assault on another vehicle left a woman driver injured on a Ventura (101) Freeway onramp in Sherman Oaks, police said.
The vehicle-versus-vehicle assault on the Woodman onramp to the 101 Freeway was reported at 4:20 a.m., said Officer Liliana Preciado, a Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman .
"West Valley Division is investigating it as an assault with a deadly weapon, the weapon being a vehicle," Preciado said.

"Words were exchanged between two drivers and then one driver hit the other" using a vehicle, Preciado said. "The victim is a female. The other driver is not known at this time, but that person fled the scene."
The condition of the injured woman was not immediately reported. Nor were details about their "exchange of words."

It was not immediately determined if the incident was a case of road rage, Preciado added.
The investigation resulted in the temporary closure of the Woodman onramp to the 101 Freeway by the CHP at the request of the LAPD. That closure was scheduled to run until at least 6 a.m.
