AYSO Region 2 and Region 98 Host Bone Marrow Donor Drive on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014

Local AYSO Regions to hold bone marrow donor registration drive in support of long term volunteer.

AYSO Region 98 (Temple City) and Region 2 (Arcadia/Monrovia) are jointly hosting a Bone Marrow Donor Drive in support of long-term AYSO volunteer Vicki Barstow and her fight against Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Vicki is a member of the Region 98 Board of Directors, the Board of Directors for AYSO Area 1-C (West San Gabriel Valley), a former Board member in Region 2, and a long time supporter of youth sports.

The Barstow Bone Marrow Donor Drive will be held Saturday, November 1st from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. by the snack bar on Gracewood Ave. at Live Oak Park in Temple City (10144 Bogue St., Temple City) and then from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Camino Grove Elementary School (700 Camino Grove Ave., Arcadia). This donor drive is for anyone ages 18 through 44. If you are 45 or older, please visit www.deletebloodcancer.com to register to donate. Registering to donate is completely free, takes less than ten minutes, and only involves a few painless cheek swabs.

Please consider taking 10-15 minutes out of your busy Saturday to register as a bone marrow donor at one of these two locations. You could help save the life of someone stricken by Leukemia or other blood cancers.
