Jouyssance Early Music Ensemble, conducted by Artistic Director Dr. Nicole Baker, joins forces with the viols of L.A. Camerata (led by Artistic Director Dr. Marylin Winkle), for a concert featuring 900 years of music by women.With composers ranging from Kassia in the 9th century to Barbara Strozzi in the 17th, the concert includes motets, madrigals, grand polychoral works, and an excerpt from the first opera written by a woman.
