City Approves Permit for 103rd Mt. Wilson Trail Race
Temporary use permit will allow for road closures, beer garden, pasta dinner and more on trail race weekend.

The City Council on Tuesday approved a permit for the upcoming 103rd Annual and Pasta Feed Dinner that will allow trail runners to carbo-load at a group dinner to be held the night before the race.
In compliance with the Council’s approval of the temporary use permit for the two-day event, certain streets within the city will be closed both during the Pasta Feed Dinner and during the Trail Race itself.
These closures are intended to protect the safety of both runners and spectators while also allowing Kersting Court to host sponsor booths from various local businesses including Team CrossFit: Elite Fitness Boot Camp and Academy, Asics, Patagonia and the .

The annual pasta dinner is open to all at a cost of $7.00 per person, and Café 322 will donate the food, with proceeds from the dinner going to benefit the .
Additionally, the temporary use permit allows for a small beer garden to be located in Kersting Court, just across the street from Chase Bank. The beer garden, which will be separated from the rest of the festivities by wooden fencing, will feature two kegs of beer donated by Dennis Hartmen of Spaten West, with proceeds from the beer sales also being donated to the Sierra Madre Search and Rescue Team.

Further defraying the costs of the beer garden will be a generous donation of the funds necessary to cover the ABC license provided by the Spero Foundation, a Sierra Madre-based non-profit group founded by Heidi Hartman, Colleen McKernan, Linda Knowles, Susan Clifton and Kathy Childs.
The beer garden - always a favorite amongst those who chose not to run in the race but still enjoy an early Sierra Madre morning - will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on race day, Saturday, May 28.
The will kick off at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 29 and most runners should be done by around 11:30 a.m.
Race day street closures will be in effect between 5:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and will include the following roads and intersections:
- East and west entrances to Kersting Court
- East Montecito Avenue
- East and West Highland Avenue
- Victoria Lane
- East and West Laurel Avenue
- East and West Grand View Avenue
- Olive Avenue
- East and West Alegria Avenue
- East and West Mira Monte Avenue
- Intersection of Baldwin and Carter Avenues
- Intersection of Carter and Mira Monte Avenues
- Intersection of Mountain Trail and Mira Monte Avenues
