City Hall and Police Department to Get Automatic Sliding Doors

More than $100,000 in project funds will come from a Community Block Development Grant and Sierra Madre's general fund.

The Sierra Madre City Council has awarded a contract to Mallcraft, Inc to begin work on replacement of entry doors to and the building that houses both the and .

The project will be underway starting Sept. 20, and is expected to be completed by approximately Nov. 22, assuming all paperwork is in place and there are no delays, according to city staff reports.

This will include removal and disposal of existing doors, installation of electrical circuit for necessary power and installation of the new automatic sliding doors. The approximate cost of the project is $96, 977.

This Public Facility ADA Entry Modification project will be funded by the Community Block Development Grant (CDBG) from the Community Development Commission in the amount of $92,809. City Council will appropriate $10,000 from General fund reserves to cover the additional cost of $4168 and $5,832 for project contingencies.
