Dogs Could be Banned in Dapper Field

Following complaints of dogs leaving paw prints on and defecating in Dapper Field, city officials have effectively blocked pet owners from letting their dogs run off-leash in the field.

The Community Services Commission and volunteers have reportedly had trouble maintaining Dapper Field in . Complaints of dog paw prints damaging the baseball diamond and dog waste soiling the grass have been heard by city officials.

In response, the CSC has moved to leave the gates at Dapper Field in a locked open position, so the field becomes a non-enclosed area. Dog owners can be cited for having their dog off-leash when they are not in an enclosed area in Sierra Madre.

In response the City Council may draft an ordinance banning dogs altogether in Dapper Field. This was discussed at last night's City Council meeting, and is a process that could take several weeks or months.
