Earthquake Rattles Los Angeles Area
A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck about four miles from Newhall, which is just under 40 miles away from Sierra Madre, Monrovia and other communities.

A magnitude 4.2 earthquake rocked the foothills this afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
Shaking began at 1:47 p.m., about four miles from Newhall and five miles from Pacoima, USGS reported.
At least 19 people in the Santa Clarita area said they felt the earthquake, according to the agency.

Two small aftershocks were also reported, including A magnitude-2.0 at 1:50 p.m., and a 2.6 shortly after, according to the Los Angeles Times.
