Gas Prices Continue to Fall

The price of a gallon of gas has been falling over the last three weeks... which is a relief compared to the sky-high prices Sierra Madreans were paying at the end of February and March.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline fell in Los Angeles County today for the 16th consecutive day, dropping seven-tenths of a cent to $4.276.

Sierra Madre Gas at 50 S Baldwin Ave. and Sierra Madre's station at 4 S Baldwin Ave. are selling a gallon of 87-octane for $4.27.

The average price is 4.8 cents less than a week ago and 11.7 cents lower
than one month ago. However, it's still higher than what customers were paying last year.

In 2011 at this time, customers were paying about 10.3 cents less, according to
figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

Today's decline was the 20th in the past 21 days.
