Gas Prices Fall for 7th Straight Day

Sierra Madre's two gas stations generally offer a gallon of 87 for the same price, seemingly to avoid competition. Do you fill up in town?

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell today for the seventh consecutive day, dropping a penny to $4.346, just one day after decreasing seven-tenths of a cent, according to City News Service.

In Sierra Madre, the lowest price was $4.31 for a gallon of 87 at the and at Sierra Madre Gas, if paying by cash. The price jumps ten cents for debit or credit card payments.

Overall, the average price in Los Angeles County is 6.1 cents less than one week ago, but 13.9 cents more than one month ago and 21.2 cents higher than one year ago

The falling pump prices follow a nearly 30 cents per gallon decrease in the wholesale price of California-blend gasoline on the New York Mercantile Exchange early last week, CNS reported.

Analysts said the completion of maintenance at refineries in Southern California and Northern California helped end record-low inventories, ushering in lower wholesale prices.
