Heavy Rain, Debris Causes High Water

Residents on Sierra Madre Blvd. saw nearly an inch of rain on Monday which, coupled with debris from the recent wind storm, caused flooding concerns.

Debris in the street clogged a drain located on Sierra Madre Blvd. between Michillinda Ave. and Sunnyside Ave. on Monday.

About .90 of an inch fell in that area of Sierra Madre, and water accumulated behind the pile of leaves and branches left by the big wind storm of Nov. 30.

Seen in the photo is a member of the Sierra Madre Public Works Department who were called by anxious residents fearing the water might go over the sidewalk and sweep into homes on the southwide of Sierra Madre Blvd.
