Trail Race Training Begins Saturday

Runners interested in training for the Mt. Wilson Trail Race are encouraged to gather Saturday in Kersting Ct. for the first of 16 free training runs.

Free training for The begins Saturday with Coach Eric LeClair and Team CrossFit Academy. Interested runners of all levels are asked to meet at 7:00 a.m. in Kersting Ct.

Saturday morning's training run will be the first of 16 gearing up for the epic and often grueling 8.6 mile trail race in May, which challenges runners to start in Kersting Ct. and run up Mt. Wilson. The race features steep and narrow mountain terrain and an elevation change of 2,100 feet.

Coach LeClair advises that it's best to start your training Saturday, though runners who come to the later training sessions will be welcome, too.

Runners will be broken up into beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, and do a different training run each week tailored to their abilities.

Coach LeClair and Team CrossFit Academy have trained hundreds of runners for this specific trail race over the past six years. In fact, over 20 alumni of their training program have finished in the top three spots.
