Rainy Weather Headed to Sierra Madre

Work crews are preparing for the worst, though forecasts indicate only moderate levels of rain are expected.

Residents should prepare for a threat of mudslides or flooding as an early season rainfall heads toward the Los Angeles County mountains, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters expect less than a quarter inch of rain to the area, however there is a slight chance thunderstorms could bring a higher rainfall amount, the agency reported. Wind gusts could hit about 50 mph.

Los Angeles County locals and workers are gearing up for early season storms with sandbags and concrete barriers in the Station Fire Burn area, according to KNBC-TV.
