Sierra Madre's Fourth of July Weekend Schedule Full of Activities
Annual parade will follow a weekend jam-packed full of patriotic festivities, live music, bubble wrap and beer.
To celebrate July 4th, the City of Sierra Madre is hosting several traditional events while also introducing something new.
From the much-anticipated Fourth of July Parade to a new Fun Run, we’ve got the skinny on all of the activities you don’t want to miss.
According to official City releases, the weekend’s activities will kick off Saturday, July 2, with a . From 3-7 p.m. enjoy picnics, swimming, a Home Run derby, softball and more.

On Sunday, July 3, the celebration continues in . From 5-10 p.m., head out to the park and enjoy a day of fun with several food booths offering an array of tasty cuisine. There will also be a Beer Garden on the premises. Among activities to cajole sights and sounds will be the traditional “Bubblewrap Fireworks” and a live performance by Mercy and the Merketts.
On Monday, the Fourth of July will start off with a bang per the new . Give the parade route a test run by joining in on this fun run.

Held by the Fourth of July Committee and the Spero Foundation, the run will begin at 7 a.m. in Kersting Court and run a loop along the Fourth of July Parade route.
The is open to runners of all ages. Check-in begins at 6 a.m. at Kersting Court. Register on-site, at the Community Recreation Center or online at http://www.cityofsierramadre.com/onlineregistration.

Finally and certainly not least, the traditional Fourth of July Parade will begin at 10 a.m. See this year’s in action on the route. The parade will also showcase prominent Sierra Madre community members and organizations and will be last until approximately 12 p.m., organizers estimate.
Independence Day will continue into the afternoon with activities in Memorial Park.
Among happenings will be a concert by the Night Blooming Jazzmen (see attached YouTube video), who will be set up on the east side of Memorial Park from 12-4 p.m. Lawn seating is free and open to all, and attendees are being encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets for comfortable seating.
The beer garden will once again be in business at Memorial Park, opened until 4 p.m. on Monday.
"This year's Fourth of July activities will again spark the community's patriotic spirit,” Chairman Bosse said in a recent press release announcing the schedule of events. “We look forward to a long weekend of festivities.”
