Sierra Madre's Gwendolyn Sings 'Freak Folk'

Local singer-songwriter is back with a new album.

Never heard of "Freak Folk" music? Well maybe that's because you've never seen Gwendolyn. The Sierra Madre-based singer known by the single moniker has been, according to Pasadena Weekly, "queen of quirk on the local scene even before freak folk had a name."

This week, PW reports that Gwendolyn, who's been on the scene since her debut album in 2000, will be performing at the , an event held at , which is located in - you guessed it - Echo Park.

Three other bands are slated to perform at the 5 p.m. Sunday show, and admission is free.
