'The Adolescents' Win at OC Music Awards

Sierra Madre's Tony Brandenburg was honored at the OC Music Awards on March 3. His band, The Adolescents, which formed over 30 years ago when Brandenburg was just 13 years old, took home the "Best Punk" award, beating out four other bands in the category.

The Adolescents has embodied youthful angst, rebellion and freedom for decades and has inspired generations of rock artists. They've released five studio albums since 1980, the most recent being "The Fastest Kid Alive" in 2011. Brandenburg, who often uses the stage name Tony Cadena, is the singer and frontman.

Now in their 10th year, The OC Music Awards are held annually to honor Orange County-based bands. Though Brandenburg lives in Sierra Madre, the majority of his band members live in Orange County, making The Adolescents eligible.

The panel of judges include music journalists, record executives, DJs, promoters and professionals involved in the Orange County music scene.
