To get the conversation going- here’s what some people said in response to the martial arts studio:
“I couldn’t think of a better business,” said Sierra Madre resident John Herrmann at last week’s Planning Commission meeting. “This one takes calories off instead of putting them on.”

“I just think there are enough gyms, salons, and restaurants here. An actual grocery store would be nice... or a pet store, or a thrift store,” said Allison Ramsey on our Facebook page.
Multiple Patch commenters have suggested that a Trader Joe’s would be useful in Sierra Madre.
So- what do you want to see in these empty storefronts? Are any of you thinking of stepping up to the plate and opening a new business in the spaces available? Tell us in the comments!
