SONOMA VALLEY, CA — Authorities arrested a Glen Ellen woman suspected of misleading homeowners, misusing construction funds, forging documents, and posing as a licensed contractor in a scheme that investigators say started in Napa County.
The investigation began with a Napa residential remodel project in which the woman, Christina Daniels, allegedly entered into a substantial contract.
On April 23, Napa police arrested Daniels, alleging that she ran an unlicensed contracting business.
Police said she collected large homeowner payments, diverted construction funds, and executed a pattern of fraud across Napa County.
Operating under the business name Lone Wolf Designs, LLC, Daniels is suspected of setting up residential remodel contracts that required substantial upfront payments beyond legal limits.
Police suspect her of collecting those funds and redirecting money to unrelated projects without completing — or properly finishing — construction work.
Investigators allege that she supervised demolition and construction using unlicensed workers and proceeded without required city permits.
Daniels is also suspected of misrepresenting her credentials, according to the Napa Police Department. Investigators allege she used another contractor’s license number without authorization and submitted forged signatures on official documents.
The Napa County District Attorney’s Office filed felony charges including diversion of construction funds, forgery, grand theft by embezzlement, theft by false pretenses, identity theft, insurance fraud, conspiracy, unlicensed contracting, excessive down payments, and faiure to secure workers’ compensation coverage.
Authorities booked Daniels into the Napa County Department of Correction following her arrest, according to Napa police.
Investigators identified between 30 and 40 additional potential victims across Northern California, with estimated total losses exceeding $1 million, police said.
