3 Injured In Sonoma Airport Plane Crash

SONOMA VALLEY, CA — A small plane crashed Wednesday afternoon at Sonoma Valley Airport, injuring three people and sending emergency crews racing to the scene near Arnold Drive.

The crash happened around 4:19 p.m. at the airport property in the 23980 block of Arnold Drive in Sonoma, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.

Firefighters, paramedics and other emergency responders arrived to treat the injured occupants of the aircraft after the plane went down on airport grounds.

Authorities said all three people aboard suffered injuries, though officials had not publicly released the severity of those injuries Wednesday evening.

Investigators have not yet said what caused the crash or what type of aircraft was involved. The airport remained an active emergency scene as crews worked around the wreckage and investigators began examining the crash site.
