• Heat advisory issued amid rising temperatures in Northern California (pressdemocrat.com) — Expect dangerous heat in Sonoma midweek, with temperatures forecast to reach about 98 degrees on Wednesday under a National Weather Service heat advisory. Residents across Sonoma County are urged to hydrate, avoid strenuous afternoon activity, check on vulnerable neighbors, and keep children and pets out of parked cars as conditions spike well above normal.
• Possible vote on flag policy tops Sonoma Valley Unified board agenda (sonomanews.com) — Sonoma Valley Unified trustees will consider a new districtwide flag policy Thursday at Sonoma City Chambers, potentially deciding how symbolic flags like the progress pride flag are flown at Sonoma Valley High and other campuses. Residents can attend in person or watch online, and will have several chances for public comment, plus a hearing on whether current textbooks and instructional materials are sufficient.
• Sonoma County launched a program to find illegal cannabis grows with drones & no warrant.. this has now changed under new settlement (cannabislaw.report) — Sonoma County has agreed to sharply limit its use of warrantless drone surveillance, now requiring warrants in most cases and deleting most footage within 30 days. The settlement follows an ACLU lawsuit over code-enforcement flights that led to heavy fines and even foreclosures, and it could bolster legal challenges by other affected Sonoma County residents.
