SONOMA VALLEY, CA — Sonoma voters can question three District 1 City Council candidates one-on-one during an informal gathering Sept. 29 at the Swiss Hotel.
The Sonoma Valley Chamber will host Peggy Hutton, Julian Mackie, and Mike Menefee, who are competing in Sonoma's contested District 1 election.
Mayor Ron Wellander and Councilmember John Gurney will also attend. Wellander, representing District 5, and Gurney, representing District 3, were appointed to new terms after running unopposed.
The event will not include a debate or formal candidate forum. Candidates will give brief presentations around 5:45 p.m., followed by time for residents, business owners, and other community members to ask individual questions and discuss issues affecting their families and businesses.
The event runs from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 29 at the Swiss Hotel, 18 W. Spain St.
The city provides official election information online.
