SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Sonoma County chefs are giving crab and salmon lovers a reason to change their orders: black cod during a 9-day effort to support the local fishing community.
Sonoma County restaurants are serving black cod Oct. 17–25, 2026, to encourage diners to try the fish.
The "Get Hooked on Black Cod" campaign is spotlighting a fish that shares local waters with more familiar catches, including Dungeness crab, Chinook salmon, rock cod, halibut, and lingcod.
Diners can sample different preparations at restaurants across Sonoma county, from Bodega to Rohnert Park.
Among several dozen, those include several dozen — 38 Degrees North in Sonoma, Brigitte Bistro in Petaluma, Bravas Bar de Tapas, Willi's and The Matheson in Healdsburg, Fresh Fuji in Rohnert Park, and the Supper Club in Cloverdale.
Local markets are also offering fresh black cod for home cooks.
