Answering The Census Helps Lynwood’s Seniors
Your participation in the #2020Census is vital to your neighbors who depend on services at the Lynwood Senior Citizen Center.

July 1, 2020
Your participation in the #2020Census is vital to your neighbors who depend on services at the Lynwood Senior Citizen Center. Funding for Senior Lunch and activities such as Bingo, field trips and holiday special events depend on the number of residents counted in our City.

Although some of those activities have been put on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic, service to our Seniors continue. Senior lunch is now delivered to their homes. Additionally, the Lynwood Recreation and Community Services Department staff are checking in on our Seniors to make sure they are doing well during the quarantine.
We can do this for our Seniors through funding based on the last Census. These are your tax dollars coming back into our community to benefit our residents.

But to make this happen, we need an accurate count. EVERY PERSON needs to be counted, regardless of age or citizenship status.
If you have not responded, you will receive a reminder postcard this week from the US Census. Here are ways you can complete the 2020 Census:
– Return the form you received in the mail in March.
– Fill out the Census online questionnaire: https://my2020census.gov/
– Call 844-330-2020 (for other languages, visit: https://2020census.gov/en/ways-to-respond/responding-by-phone.html)
– Respond to the Census takers who will go door-to-door.
Nearly 56 percent of Lynwood households have responded. That’s good, but not enough.
Let’s get to 100 percent!
