Apply to the South Gate Police Department's Citizen Academy

The course will also be offered in Spanish.

SOUTH GATE (CNS) - June 25 is the deadline to apply for a South Gate Police Department's Citizen Academy which will provide residents with an inside look into local law enforcement in a five-week course that will begin on July 12.

The course will be offered at the South Gate Police Department, 8620 California Ave. Space is limited to the first 30 applicants. The course will provide an overview of the department's function, staff, responsibilities and operational procedures.

Activities will include classroom discussions and role playing. Forms can be obtained from the police department. The course will be offered in Spanish.
