Car Chase Suspect Surrenders at Casino Following Chase Through South L.A.

Broadcast video showed the female suspect driving on sidewalks, through a gas station and through red lights during the chase.

BELL GARDENS, CA - A carjacking suspect led sheriff's deputies on a chase through several areas near South Los Angeles Wednesday night before surrendering in a casino parking lot in Bell Gardens.

The chase began about 8 p.m. by deputies from the sheriff's Compton Station, according to the Sheriff's Information Bureau.

A spike strip appeared to flatten one of the vehicle's tires and the bare rim began spewing a rooster tail of sparks.

The driver then got out of the vehicle about 8:30 p.m. outside the Bicycle Casino and surrendered to deputies who approached the pickup with firearms drawn.
