If you haven’t responded yet, it is more important than ever to make sure your household is counted. Census takers are making the rounds in Lynwood and visiting homes that have not responded. If you get a visit, here’s what you can expect:

  • Census Takers will have a valid ID badge with their photograph, a U.S. Department of Commerce watermark, and an expiration date. Census workers may also carry Census Bureau bags and other equipment with the Census Bureau logo.
  • They will follow COVID-19 safety protocols, including wearing masks and practicing social distancing.
  • You will NEVER be asked about citizenship status.
  • If you are not home, they will leave information on how to respond online and by phone.

Remember, programs for our youth and seniors, infrastructure improvements, education, public safety and much more depend on an accurate Census count. If you are not counted, Lynwood will lose out on vital federal funding.
