2-Alarm Fire Burns Huntington Park Business

Thick plumes of smokes can be seen rising into the sky.

A blaze burned through the roof of a commercial building in Huntington Park Monday and firefighters worked to prevent the flames from spreading to other structures.

The fire, which sent up a huge plume of black smoke, was reported about 9:05 a.m. in the 5600 block of Soto Street, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Personnel from the Vernon Fire Department assisted county firefighters in the effort to extinguish the flames.

A second-alarm fire is burning in a commercial building in the 5600 block of Soto Street in Huntington Park, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The building’s roof was engulfed in flames and about 80 firefighters were on scene.
