Coronavirus Cases Rising In LA County – Stay Safe Original Text

Earlier this week, Los Angeles County reported the highest ever one-day rise in COVID-19 cases and predict the county will see 8,000-9,000 new cases a day within the next week. The surge in cases is worrying health officials as it could lead to a shortage of hospital beds and care for those who need it most. In Lynwood, 4,757 residents have contracted the virus since March and 113 have died.

As the Christmas holiday nears, it is important that all of us stay vigilant to stop the spread of COVID-19. That means we must not have in-person holiday parties or get-togethers (do an online celebration instead).

Here are some safety precautions you should take:

STAY HOME – Los Angeles County is under “Safer at Home” precautions until December 20. That means that you should only go out if absolutely necessary.

If you must go out, please do the following:

• WEAR A MASK
• PRACTICE PHYSCIAL DISTANCING OF AT LEAST SIX FEET
• WASH YOUR HANDS FREQUENTLY OR USE HAND SANITIZER

We realize many of you are tired of quarantining, but it is important to stay safe and keep yourself and others from getting the virus. Also help is on the way as more good news about COVID-19 vaccines come out each day.
