Dog Park To be Built at Hollydale Regional Park
City Officials hope to have the park ready by the summer of 2013.

Plans for the long are moving along. Members of the Parks and Recreation Commission have reached an agreement as to where it should be built.
“The commission has made their recommendation,” said Director of Parks and Recreation for the city of South Gate. “They felt it was best to put the park at Hollydale Regional Park.”

City officials admitted that this might not be the last dog park to be built in South Gate. The west of the city might also get to enjoy having a closer park for their pets. However, South Gate Park will most likely not be a location.
“The commission felt that South Gate Park is too busy and that it was not a good place to put some thing like this,” said Adams. “But in the future, once we have a dog park operating, [the commission] would like to see us put another one in Cesar Chavez Park or another property.”
The dog park is expected to be finished by the summer of 2013.
