Each week, we report that Lynwood Public Works crews clean trash and debris from nearly 100 miles of streets and alleys. This is a monumental task that has crews picking up everything from major appliances to human waste — all illegally dumped in our alleys and on our streets.

To those who illegal dump, you will be billed for clean-up, including staff time and equipment. For instance:

Crews were called to an address on Louise Avenue to clean more than two dump trucks full of
debris. Crews were able to determine where the trash originated, and that property owner will
be responsible to pay for the clean-up.

Another illegal dump involved two dump trucks full of dirt from a backyard pool install. That
property owner will also be invoiced for the staff time and equipment used for the clean-up.
