Each year, the City of Los Angeles hosts an annual "El Grito" celebration to commemorate the historical cry for independence by Father Miguel Hidalgo on September 16, 1810, which marked the beginning of Mexico's independence from Spain.
This year's "El Grito" celebration will take place at El Pueblo (Olvera Street) on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012.
