Evangelical Latin Church - Iglesia Evangelica Latina To Host Job Fair Sept. 10 in Los Angeles

As California's unemployment rate hits lowest mark in more than seven years, more companies continue to hire.

California’s economy continued to show encouraging signs last month, adding 80,700 new jobs during the month – the state’s largest single-month employment gain in more than a year.

As California’s unemployment rate dropped from 6.3 percent in June to 6.2 percent in July – its lowest rate in more than seven years – employers and job seekers continued to find the right matches at job fairs throughout the state.

Evangelical Latin Church – or Iglesia Evangelica Latina – in Los Angeles will open its doors to the community with a free job, college and resource fair on Thursday, Sept. 10. The church is located at 1250 Bellevue Ave. in Los Angeles.

“The greatest resource for our communities and city is the local church,” said the church’s pastor, Rev. Nelson E. Sandoval. “Nowhere else in the world can you experience networking at a deeper level –where a mutual care, love and respect abide. So we open up our church to our community so they may seek the resources needed and find hope both for the now and for the tomorrow.”

Evangelical Latin Church is expected to host more than 40 employers looking to fill current job openings for positions ranging from entry-level jobs for high school and college graduates to positions for experienced professionals and military veterans.
