Four Injured in South Gate Bike Path Collision
The current conditions of the victims are unknown.

The South Gate Police Department (SGPD) has informed Patch that a Sunday morning collision involving a motorcycle and bicyclists resulted in four injuries.
“On [May 5, 2013 at 9:13 a.m. the] SGPD received a call of a collision on the east side of the [Los Angeles] river bike path south of Imperial Highway,” said Captain Keith Hupp of the SGPD.
Officers encountered four injured subjects, two adult bicyclists and two juveniles who were using “homemade” motorized mini-bikes.

“Witnesses stated that the bicyclists were riding [southbound] on the bike path and the juveniles were riding their mini-bikes [northbound] on the bike path on the east side of the LA Riverbed,” said Capt. Hupp. “The juveniles apparently collided head on with the bicyclists while negotiating a turn on the bike path.”
According to the SGPD, one of the adults was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood after sustaining serious injuries.

The two juveniles were also taken to an unspecified local hospital, with one being described as in “serious condition.”
“The juveniles parents were notified and responded to the hospital,” said Capt. Hupp.
The SGPD does not have any updates on the current conditions of the injured parties.
The two male adults were residents of Chino Hills, and the two juveniles were from Compton, according to the SGPD.
