Los Angeles County Gasoline Price Drops

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped on Thursday to its lowest amount since Jan. 2, decreasing 1.1 cents to $3.666.
The average price has dropped on 64 of the past 65 days and is 7.5 cents less than one week ago and 23 cents lower than one month ago but 7.4 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has fallen $1.039 over the past 65 days, including nine tenths of a cent on both Tuesday and Wednesday. It decreased for 48 consecutive days after reaching a record high of $4.705 on Oct. 9, was unchanged Nov. 27 and resumed dropping the next day.
The Orange County average price decreased today for the 66th consecutive day, falling 1.3 cents to $3.633, its lowest amount since Dec. 31.

The Orange County average price has decreased $1.057 over the past 66 days, including nine-tenths of a cent on Wednesday, after rising 51.3 cents over the previous six days to a record high of $4.69 on Oct. 8.
The Orange County average price is 7.2 cents less than one week ago and 20.9 cents lower than one month ago, but 7.5 cents more than one year ago. The streak of dropping prices is the longest since a 90-day streak from Sept. 16-Dec. 14, 2008.
