Those nights were nothing compared to the 4th of July. The illegal fireworks unleashed on Saturday night created noise and air pollution throughout Los Angeles County. Yesterday, Southern California had the worst air quality in the world because of the amount of illegal fireworks used the night before.

In Lynwood, we faced a third type of pollution – the trash left by those who used fireworks, both illegal and safe and sane. That’s why our Public Works crews were dispatched on Sunday, July 5 to clean the streets of fireworks debris. The crews shouldn’t have had to work on a Sunday, but the mess was too much to ignore.
Our residents constantly ask us to keep Lynwood streets clean, but we need your help. You are responsible for the trash you create. Respect your neighbors and your neighborhood by cleaning up your mess.
