Lynwood Programs Depend On The Census

Now more than ever, your response to the #2020Census matters. Responding is easier and safer than ever.

This week, we’ve reported that the City of Lynwood has distributed more than 70,000 meals to our youth and seniors since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We’ve also let you know about several assistance programs open to Lynwood residents who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

These programs and others such as street improvement projects, our children’s education, public safety and healthcare are all funded based on the census.

For every person who does not respond, the California Department of Finance estimates that state and local governments will lose out on $1,000 a year in federal funding tied to population for the next 10 years – that’s $10,000 per person not counted.
