It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Holiday lights are twinkling from homes across Lynwood while Christmas trees and other whimsical decorations fill front yards and put smiles on the faces of neighbors and anyone passing by.

Unfortunately, there are some Grinches out there who want to take the holiday cheer away.

You’ve spent a considerable amount of time and money to decorate your home. Make sure you take that extra step to protect your decorations from thieves. Here are a few suggestions on how you can protect your Christmas outdoor decorations.

• Secure lights with lightweight wire.

• Secure hanging decorations with wire or lightweight chains.

• Hook larger ornaments to trees and nearby structures.

• Make concrete bases to use to weigh down larger ornaments and displays.
